Nokia X30 5G | G60 5G launch campaign
The Nokia X30 5G and G60 5G have been designed with a strong focus on sustainability and longevity.
We were tasked with creating a visually pleasing set of stills which clearly convey the sustainable focus of the product whilst maintaining a luxury goods aesthetic. I worked closely with Nokia’s creative director to develop a visual made up of recycled materials with the device ‘floating’ within.
At the time of release, the X30 was billed as the most eco-friendly smartphone on the market, boasting 100% recycled aluminum and 65% recycled plastic, plus various upgrades and warranties over a 3 year period.
We enlisted the help of product designer Joe Begley to create a prototype sculpture using metal and plastic scraps. These scraps were bent, twisted, melted, cut and bashed until we were happy with the aesthetic detail. The model featured an adjustable rig for the handset allowing us to change the angle of the device on set.
Care was taken to ensure the materials sourced and used in the shoot were true to the materials used in the production process of each device.
